Sandstone Soap Review

I don't know where half of this Lush stuff is from since I haven't gotten anything in an year. I suppose that this is that old then. Just as well as it's getting to be summer again. This soap is an excellent exfoliator. So excellent in fact, that it functions better as an exfoliator than as a soap.

I wouldn't recommend this if you're searching for a specific scent or a nice soap. The scent is lemony. While it's there when you hold it up to your nose to smell it, you can't smell it in the shower at all and the is nothing left on your skin after shower. As for its function as a soap, it doesn't really lather too great. But I would definitely repurchase it for its use as an exfoliant. The sand in this product is a bit stronger and finer than sugar and having it in a soap bar form.

Have you tried this? What's your favorite exfoliant of the moment?

  3. Never tried it and would love to use as exfoliant as you say!:) At the moment I'm using one from Auchan and it is quite fine, but is a gel. Would love to use also a soap:) Kisses! xo

  4. I tried LUSH around Christmas time and love most of their products. A lot of their soaps do serve as an exfoliator and they work great! LOL Aki about the expiration date! LUSH products are made with fresh ingredients, I'm surprised it had a scent left. HaHaHa

  6. I have never tried Lush products either....but its always fun to try something new. My favorite exfoliant is Clinique's sparkle skin body exfoliator. It makes my skin feel incredible after!

  11. I am always wary of Lush products because I find the scent of the stores themselves very overpowering and unpleasant. It's nice to know that they make some things with little scent! I have been looking for an exfoliating soap, I will have to give this one a try :)

  12. Hi there! I actually have this in my shower now and you are so right about it being more of an exfoliator rather than a soap. I love the scent but the sand is quite abrasive for a soap. Great review!!
Oh and about the chili we both made, Mendi had had it before and shared the recipe and since it was going to snow we both were talking about making the soup. Then she sent me a text saying she had made it while I was getting ready to make it. We are totally on the same page sometimes! And we are both trying to eat a little healthier and this chili is pretty good for you.
Hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter!

  14. I've had to step away from spending money at Lush... it is pretty darn expensive. I've been purchasing goat milk soap from the health food store... even though I don't smell like sunshine and lollipops, but they're cheaper and just as great.

My husband actually bought this soap probably for the scent because he texts me to tell it "it's really rough" haha

  17. I believe Lush is from Australia. I can hardly get into this store as the scent is just too strong for me.
I'm currently using the scrub from Aveda and it's great!

  18. I love Lush products and have used them for years, but I have not used this one at all! I love their massage bar and cleansers. They have such a variety of vegetarian products as well I like.

  21. I love Lush, but haven't tried much beyond their soap and bath products. My favorite daily exfoliator is Dermalogica's Microfoliant. It doesn't upset my sensitive skin, and is gentle enough for daily use.
