My Life is Average Mondays: Spring Break Cleaning

via tumblr
So, a few weeks ago during spring break I was all pumped to do some closet spring cleaning. I was going to get rid of clothes I never wear and sell it or donate it.

Until I actually set to the task.

I realized that I had given many of my undesirable clothes to my mother already. All those old, ill fitting shirts went to her, as did the too skinny for me pants, and those out of style dresses.

After cleaning out my closet, I had a total of less than 10 items to sell.

When I took it to the store, it took the lady 3 seconds to look though my things and determine that she didn't want any of them.

What a bust!

  5. I hate spring cleaning so much! When ever I attempt to give clothes away I'm like, well maybe I'll lose a ton of weight and fit into this old old tshirt that I really liked when I was 7... *sigh*

    1. When you were 7? Thank goodness my taste in clothes was very bad for a while! I don't want to keep any of that stuff.

  7. Usually after I clean my closets out I pass my clothes along to my two sisters and sometimes even my mom so that they can take whatever they want and by the time all of that happens the items I'm left with all get donated.

Do you hate cleaning out closets as much as me?

  8. Bummer! I just gave away a few bags of clothes to Big Brothers/Big Sisters. I used to try and sell stuff online, especially since a lot still had tags, but it was just too much work.

  9. Me too. I bought some clothes to consignment and they only took 50% of them. Well, better than nothing. Have a great week, Aki!

  11. That´s really weird given that you´ce spent money for those clothes. Maybe they´re destined to be given to charity.

  12. At least you´ve already done it. I still have to do it and I´m really nor looking forward to that :)

  14. It's a job I keep putting off. The weather here is still quite cold so I'm not quite ready to wear lighter clothes and take unwanted heavy layers to the charity shop!

  18. Yay for cleaning! Only 10 items left, wow! Excuse to go shopping! Make sure you only buy things you love, otherwise, you'll be back to where you started. Sorry she didn't want your stuff!

  19. I've cleaned just about everything... Except for my closet! I've been putting that off, but at some point, I should just jump right in! I've had that happen to me at a store before. I had a giant bag of stuff to carry back. I think some girls use poshmark or Etsy - I might have to do that this summer!

  20. I've always taken it as kind of a personal insult when those shops don't want my stuff. My stuff is awesome.
