Pizza Making Adventures and Mishaps

Mostly mishaps. My bar for "edible" is very low.

This isn't my first attempt at pizza making. For my first attempt, I'd like to refer you to this delicious disaster right here. If I had a separate food blog, that'd be its name. Delicious Disasters.

Off topic. Anyways, my friend got a pizza cooking slab for Christmas, so obviously, we had to make pizzas. With the cooking stone, he also got a book of recipes on how to make pizza dough, sauces, and whole pizzas. We ignored it, for the most part.

For our first try, we went out to Fry's and got some Whole Wheat pizza dough. Then we flattened it onto the slab as you see here. Appetizing.

Oh. And then somehow we managed to burn the pizza. Or um... we made it thin crusted and smoky. And charred. Like I mentioned at the beginning, my bar for edible is pretty low so I unstuck as much of the pizza as I could and ate a few bites. The onion and prosciutto pizza wasn't bad! it was a little salty and hard but I'd call it an okay first try.

On our second try we used a different type of dough. Regular instead of whole wheat. We also cooked it for less time. So, you know, no burning. I actually really enjoyed this attempt. The dough was delicious! Only thing was that I felt it needed more sauce, but that may be because I think everything is better with sauce.

What are your favorite pizza toppings?

  2. ahah they don't look like disasters to me! The second one looks especially good...

For me, you can go wrong with cheese and pineapples. And sweet potatoes. Yum.

  3. Mmm, I love a crusted and smoky pizza! ;D

Both look really good, to be honest with you. I particulary love pepperoni, extra cheddar cheese, onions, chicken, and I also like to dip it in ranch dressing. (Midwestern thing) SO GOOD!

  9. I LOVE making pizza at home, and making our own crust. Not hard, just needs time for yeast to rise. Our favorite toppings are olives (b/c my son loves them), peppers, onions, and mushrooms. And some meat. Whatever is in the fridge ;).

  10. Ok, the second one looks much better! HaHaHa Mine would probably do the same thing, because I've never tried. I love mushrooms, green onions, and hamburger.

  23. The first try looks a bit sketchy, but the second looks delicious. But who am I the one to talk, I can't even make toast without causing a house fire. Haha, but loved hearing about your adventures and mishaps on Pizza makings. I once made pizza with my friend and we ended up finding pubic hair in the final product (IT WASN'T MINE).. also that was too much information for you. Sorry for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Would you like to follow each other?

  24. My first pizza was a total disaster, both the dough and the toppings, as I didn't have too much stuff in the house, but really wanted to make one. Awful, not even the dog ate.. I am not a pizza master, but I think I'd get it right now, but the title goes to my husband, he is quite a good cook! You have an award from me, on my blog. Cheers!

  27. I haven't had much luck making pizza myself but your second attempt looks good. I agree that sauce makes everything better.

For corporate offices these days people are often looking for "fun spaces" where you can go and talk, collaborate, or do something interesting at lunch - especially in the suburbs where there may be nothing else to do. There is always an area with desks or workstations, that's just not as fun to look at so it isn't photographed as often.

  29. They look pretty good!
I really like to put spinach leaves on pizza. They form a nice crisp, almost like basil. & I love to crack an egg on top towards the last few minutes of baking, to give it a breakfast pizza taste.
& thank you so much for visiting my page. Really appreciate!!
