Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser

I generally don't have any complaints on my skin, but I have terrible dark circle problems. My issue isn't sleep, but rather sinus blockage. During what feels like nine months out of the year, I wake up every morning with my nose stuffed and leaky... constantly sneezing. I really wanted something to cover up these dark circles without settling into my fine lines.

Here's what the back of the packaging says. Ultimately, what it is is a concealer that comes out  though that "eraser" like application near the top.

This swatch of it is quite thick. I normally use less than this under both my eyes.

This is... only okay. If I layer this on for high coverage, it looks cakey (and no one wants cakey under their eyes). If I don't layer this on, it doesn't really do a good job of hiding my undereye circles. And don't get me started on the applicator. It gets the product to my face, sure, but it requires so much blending out anyways that it doesn't really matter. I wouldn't repurchase it.

Do you buy drugstore undereye concealers? Or just high end?

  1. i always view liquid concealers as matte highlighters or brighteners. not really my thing for hiding the dark circles. ps thank you for the sweetest comment.

  2. I used this concealer and didn't like it at all. It got way too cakey. Right now, I'm using the Bare Mineral Serum Concealer and really like it. I too have really bad dark circles.

  3. I liked this a lot at first, but the packaging started to get on my nerves a little and it's definitely not the best at covering without looking cakey!

  4. ....so here I was recommending this to my friend who is a complete makeup newbie (to the extent where she doesn't know the difference between a concealer and foundation....SMH) for her undereye circles since this concealer gets tons of raves. Might have to reconsider that now though, but I mean, are there even any good undereye concealers at the drugstore?? But yeah, I know tons of people get rid of that ridiculous sponge tip thing because it's just gross and unhygienic.

  5. I have sinus issues also. I feel you Aki. Sorry this didn't work. I love Urban Decay's Naked concealer. It's really good.

  7. Ah, cakey definitely doesn't sound like something very sexy, haha. Great review though! I'll remember this when I go shopping next!

  13. Welcome back! I'm sorry this one didn't work for you, I think finding concealer is really hard though. I use Touche Eclat because I also have huge dark circles under my eyes and it works for me. It's expensive but I only need about 1.5 tubes a year so I just wait until I get a coupon from Sephora to buy it. :) I hope the next one you try works better!

  17. The best thing I've been doing for my under eyes is covering them up with red lipstick. Sounds weird but it's the best thing to cover them up. I have dark circles even if i sleep for 10 hours a night, no concealer has ever covered the darkness a much as I'd hope. What I do now instead is prepare and do my make up how ever I want, then use a detail brush to apply matt red lipstick under my eyes, blend it in with my fingers which also takes of the excess, then apply concealer over the top and set with powder. It's worth a try!!
