Thinking back to leaves

Fall and Winter always fought to be my favorite time of the year.

Summer was too hot, especially when I lived in Arizona.

I always had too many allergies to truly enjoy Spring. (Plus, it bled into Summer, which if I may reiterate, was too warm.)

But then there was Fall. Fall was a friend who brought boots and coats and leaves, even if I was often one of the last to enjoy them.

And Winter. Winter was food and family and festivities... who can say no to that?

But now I'm experiencing Winter somewhere else. I'm cold and I'm away from family, and it's not quite time to enjoy the festivities yet. So today, I'm thinking back to Fall, thinking back to days where the air was crisp but not frosty. And I'm thinking back to leaves-- red and gold, tumbling all over.

  5. I miss fall from LAST year. Here in Shanghai it seems as if the leaves go from green to brown and fall off without turning all the beautiful colors I'm used to seeing in the Midwest.

  6. Will you get to see your family for the holidays then? I can imagine it being hard being away from them that time of year.

  9. Although I'm pretty much a summer girl now, I do like fall:) There's nothing like seeing the leaves turn colour, eh? And winter...that just means shovelling snow and driving through slush for me:P

  13. We have been a little lucky with a very warm winter although last night was a bit chilly for my taste. I have never been a fan of fall -- just brought out all sorts of weird emotions and mood swings but this year has been really quite different and I enjoyed the season so much. I do love the leaves though -- so very pretty with all their enchanting colors :)

  18. Autumn gives some great colors! Winter's not too bad either, as long as there's snow. Right now we only have rain & clouds.

  19. I'm definitely more about Summer - because the weather in the UK doesn't really get that hot in the Summertime so it's quite pleasant. Though Autumn or Fall is nice too but a little windy here and every time that time of year comes around, I'm reminded how much I love wrapping up warm and getting all those cosy layers on! PS - Thanks for leaving lovely comments on my blog :) xx

  25. Feel ya so hard. I used to be on the "winter is my favorite season" wagon until I realized winter in AZ is fall everywhere else and real winter is kind of shitty when you have to venture into it to get to work.
